The first night we got here we went to an American club which was lame so we made friends with some Spanish guys and they recommended a club called Apolo which was supposed to be really fun on Mondays and it was more international. This club was the beginning of my obsession with Barcelona. It was huge club full of awesome Spanish people, I wanted to be all of them, they had the best style and attitudes. There were 4 DJs on stage spinning in an antique car playing the greatest music ranging from Rage Against The Machine to Euro funk music. We met up with our Spanish friends who are studying to be doctors and they said they would help us with our Spanish. The people in Barcelona are generally very friendly, they have such an easy going attitude.
But speaking of the Spanish language, we started our classes today. I am taking 4 classes: Spanish, Spanish Art and Cultural Heritage, Spanish History in the 20th Century, and Spanish Culture (apparently I will be a pro when it comes to Spain by the time I leave). Our Spanish classes are 4 hours long and count for 6 credits, I am in the beginners level but absolutely zero english is allowed in class. Even after 1 day I already feel more comfortable speaking and understanding the language.
Time for a sandwich and siesta.
Kisses!!
